In doing so, VPN allows the authorized user to gain visibility of SLAC network resources from outside SLAC. Specifically, it permits an authorized user on a verified computer, such as your home PC or laptop, to temporariliy join a secure network, such as SLAC's. VPN, or Virtual Private Network, provides a secure connection between your computer and the resources available at your home institution. Using the Remote Desktop Connection client, connect to the computer using the name recorded using your Windows login credentials.On the remote computer (assuming it is outside the SLAC network) connect to SLAC VPN (see VPN help below).Also in Remote Desktop Settings, note the name of your SLAC workstation under 'How to connect to this PC.'
